The Scottish Highlands have long been the go-to destination for boaters looking to push themselves in the UK. The huge variety of fantastic grade 3-4+ in the highlands at times almost seems designed as a whitewater playground.
Your coach is most likely to be the man you see pictured here; Owner and Head Coach Oli Kershaw
Oli has been boating around the world for several years now and knows Scotland very well indeed. He will show you the sweetest lines and show you how to take them.
With a sport that's progressing as fast as whitewater kayaking, we believe you have to continue to push yourself to be able to teach the most modern and advanced techniques. That's what we do, and very few others do it too.
All our coaching at Next Level comes from real boating experience across the globe and our coaches are all top boaters in their personal time. When they're not coaching you, they're sending 70ft drops in Chile, styling big volume in Norway, or competing in World Championships, so you can rest assured our techniques have been tried and tested! How many other coaches can say that?
They say a picture says a thousand words, so we'll like the photos do the talking. All of these photos were taken during our 2017 trip to Scotland. Next Level will provide you of digital copies of all photographs and video after your trip!
All of our holidays are fully chalet catered. That means you get 3 delicious meals a day; a hearty breakfast, a lunch to take on the river, and a delicious evening meal, as well as coffee and cake on arriving back from the river each day.
We try to ensure we vary the food, some days cooking the finest local ingredients how the locals tell us to, and other days creating some Next Level favourites. But mostly creating what you ask for!
We can cater to all dietary requirements and preferences including Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free diets, but please let us know in advance so we can make sure to make you food you love all week.
Because we know you'll have been busy travelling, we even provide the wine and beer on the first evening to celebrate your arrival!
We know that to give it your best on the river, and to enjoy your well-deserved rest from work, good sleep is incredibly important.
That's why we choose proper chalets or guest houses to fit your group. We always aim for twin or double rooms to give you a place to relax, as well as a big inviting group space for everyone to share coffee, cake and stories after a great day on the river.
We think meal times are a fantastic way to spend time together and get to know each other better, so we will always aim to find accommodation with comfortable dining facilities to fit the whole group.
The accommodation we choose each trip depends on the group, obviously we hire somewhere different for 4 people than for 12!
Getting to Scotland is very easy! You can fly or drive with relative ease.
To drive to Fort William is all on fairly major roads, making the drive itself easy. You may even pass through the stunning Glen Coe.
Alternatively you can even fly! The closest airport is Inverness. At the time of writing, RyanAir are currently flying from London Gatwick or Luton to Inverness for around £100 return! Please be aware that you will need to check directly with the airline whether you are able to take a kayak on board, most will accept with a £5o oversized baggage fee each way. We would highly recommend you get confirmation in writing before arriving at the airport to help everything go smoothly!
If you choose to fly, we cover picking you up from the airport and dropping you back at the end of the week! How will we do this? We come to meet you at the airport, put your boats on top of the Next Level shuttle wagon and then we'll either hire a car for the group, or pay for the taxi!
